Backup & restore

Kasvia stores all your data locally on your device — there is no cloud sync. To protect your plant history, photos, and schedules, you should create regular backups and save them somewhere safe like iCloud Drive or Google Drive.

A backup is a single zip file that contains everything: plants, events, schedules, items, documents, and photos. Restoring a backup replaces your current data completely, so use it only when moving to a new device or reinstalling after a data loss.

Common questions

I'm switching to a new phone. What should I do?

Create a backup on your old device and save it to iCloud Drive or Google Drive. Install Kasvia on the new device, then go to Settings → Backup → Restore Backup and select the file. After restoring, use Restore Purchases in the Store to bring back any paid packs.

How do I create a backup?

Go to Settings → Backup → Create Backup. Once it's ready, choose to share or save it. Save it to iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or another location outside the app so it survives if you uninstall Kasvia.

How do I restore from a backup?

Go to Settings → Backup → Restore Backup. Select the backup zip file. Kasvia will ask for confirmation before replacing your current data.

Will restoring a backup bring back my purchases?

Restoring a backup restores your plant data. To restore paid features, use the Restore Purchases button in the Store separately.
